Registration is Open for 2018 Youth Leadership Program

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. – The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that applications are now available for the 2018 Youth Leadership Program.

The Youth Leadership Program is an intensive and elite, seven-month program designed to provide high school students on the Eastern Shore with the opportunity to gain a greater knowledge about their community, develop strong leadership skills and gain more self and social awareness. Participants engage in topic discussions including, but are not limited to, the history and geography of Baldwin County, law and government, business smarts, health and human services, and the environment. In addition to class sessions, students work in teams to develop small group projects that address and benefit a specific community need. Additional activities include an opening retreat, community service hours, a closing retreat, and a graduation ceremony. The program runs from August to March.

"By developing young leaders, we will build vital communities that value fairness, diversity and integrity,” said Christina Hellmich, Eastern Shore Chamber Director of Workforce Development.

The Youth Leadership Program is open to rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who live full-time in Baldwin County or go to school in Baldwin County.
