The Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow campaign continues to build momentum. The Eastern Shore fundraising initiative, sponsored by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, has named Tim Rosson, City President, Mobile/Baldwin County with BBVA Compass Bank, and David Clark, General Manager of the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa, Co-Chairmen of the campaign.
Jim Byrd, Chairman of the Chambers Board of Directors made the announcement at the boards September meeting. We are excited about Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow and the benefits that the Eastern Shore will enjoy as a result of this important community-wide effort said Byrd. Tim Rosson and David Clark are the right men to rally our community together. They are the epitome of our communitys corporate leadership, working tirelessly and selflessly for the good of the Eastern Shore.
This is an exciting time for the Eastern Shore and I am pleased to serve in this important initiative, said Rosson. Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow is a dynamic program that will meet the current and future needs of our community and provide for its economic well-being. As a result of Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow, the Eastern Shore will control its own destiny and position itself more favorably to deal with the challenges of growth without sacrificing our environment and quality of life. David Clark added, Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow will provide a platform for enhanced support and innovation to our businesses and community. The five-year program is vitally important to everyone who works and lives on the Eastern Shore and Mobile Bay.
As Co-Chairs of Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow, Rosson and Clark will head a campaign which will involve approximately one hundred volunteers from the public and private sectors on the Eastern Shore. A campaign office has been established at the Eastern Shore Chambers Fairhope office. Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow will be implemented in Eastern Shore and Baldwin County over the next seven months.
The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, established in 1924, is comprised of business and community leaders from the cities of Daphne, Fairhope and Spanish Fort as well as Baldwin County. Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow is the second community-wide initiative of its kind undertaken by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce. It follows the very successful Blueprint for Tomorrow which was implemented from 2005 through 2010. This new five-year Blueprint program is a Business Action Plan that will focus on three primary areas of concern:
Economic Development / Workforce Development
Tourism
Public and Community Affairs
This economic and community development strategy for the Eastern Shore was crafted by over one hundred corporate and community leaders earlier this year. Representatives from each of the cities and the county along with corporate leaders from every corner of the Eastern Shore worked together for five months to create the Blueprint for a Better Tomorrow plan.
