The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce salutes Board of Advisors member Terry Thompson of Terry Thompson Chevrolet. Terry has been a strong supporter of the Chamber for many years, by sponsoring numerous events and activities such as the Chamber’s Golf Tournament and Youth Leadership program. This year he started the Spirit of Youth Leadership Award that recognizes one of the participants of the Youth Leadership Program with a plaque and a check for $500. He also presents a plaque and a check in the amount of $2,000 to the school the student attends. Terry also received the Chamber’s Community Leader of the Year award in 2004.
Terry has been a strong supporter of the Eastern Shore Chamber since moving to the area in 1974, as well as many other civic and community related activities. His support of the Chamber’s Blueprint for Tomorrow is an endorsement of the many accomplishments of the organization.
“I feel it is important for businesses as well as individuals to become members and get involved in their community,” he said.
Terry has served on the boards for Christ the King School Board, Thomas Hospital Foundation (served as chairman from 1999-2001) and Thomas Hospital Board, Mobile Arts Sports Association (trustee). He is a member of the Point Clear Rotary Club, past member of the Optimist of Club of Fairhope and Eastern Shore Sertoma Club, member of the Fairhope High Booster Club and Daphne High Booster Club. He is also a member of the Saint Lawrence Church. In addition to being member of the Eastern Shore Chamber (he was also a past board member and now serves on the Board of Advisors), he is a member of NADA-20 Group, Daphne Business Coalition, past member of Chevrolet Society of Sales Executives, member of the Regional Chevrolet Advisory Board and the Alabama Auto Dealers Association. His list of achievements include GM Mark of Excellence for Sales and for Service, Chevrolet and Oldsmobile Sales Executive Regional Award and Best of Baldwin County - #1 Automotive Service Department for 2005-2006.
