Registration Underway for 7th Annual Turkey Trot

The 7th Annual Prodisee Pantry Turkey Trot runs through Old Towne Daphne on Saturday, October 22th with both a 5K Race and a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. The 5K Race starts at 8 a.m. on Main Street at City Hall. It follows a fast course as it winds through Old Towne Daphne. The Fun Run begins at 9 a.m. Walkers are encouraged to participate in the Fun Run. A family friendly festival includes free food, inflatables, games and other family activities.

JM Family Enterprises and its subsidiary World Omni Financial Corporation celebrated the 25th Anniversary of its Customer Service Center in Mobile, Ala. by making a $25,000 donation to longtime nonprofit partner Feeding the Gulf Coast. Representatives from JM Family, World Omni and Feeding the Gulf Coast were in attendance during a special check presentation held at the charity’s Main Branch in Theodore, Ala.

University of Mobile Names Chris McCaghren, Ed.D., as Vice President of Academic Affairs

University of Mobile has named Alabama native and former Samford University administrator Christopher McCaghren, Ed.D., as vice president of academic affairs. Currently, McCaghren is dean of the College of Education at Anderson University in South Carolina, where he served with then-provost Dr. Tim Smith. In April, Smith was appointed president of University of Mobile after a nationwide search. Previously, McCaghren was assistant to the president for external programs at Samford University in Alabama, where he was mentored by Samford President Dr. Andrew Westmoreland.
