Wintzell's Impresses with Crab Cakes and Oyster Menu

The Eastern Shore Chamber continued its quest for the Best Crab Cakes on the Eastern Shore in May at the home of “Fried, Stewed or Nude,” Wintzell’s Oyster House in Fairhope. “Fried, Stewed or Nude,” of course, refers to the different ways you can order your oysters at this legendary establishment. Since 1938, Wintzell’s has been serving up fresh seafood, steaks, chicken, sandwiches, and other great menu items that have attracted customers far and wide.

“Buy Fresh, Buy Local” at Eastern Shore Farmers Markets

Believe it or not, the first organized farmers market—with producers of vegetables, meat and baked goods selling direct to the consumers—opened more than 280 years ago in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. That markets still going strong, and according to the US Department of Agriculture there are nearly 10,000 similar markets across the country. Three are right here on the Eastern Shore.
