The 21st Annual Jubilee Festival, scheduled for September 26 & 27, 2009, in Olde Towne Daphne, is expected to be better than ever. More than 30 volunteers have been working hard to develop new ideas and selected some of the finest arts and crafts for the Eastern Shore Chamber event.
Over 50 percent of the juried arts and crafts exhibitors will be new to the festival this year.
Most people dont know that the Eastern Shore has an abundance of talented entertainers who dance, sing or make us laugh. The stage list is jam-packed with highly talented entertainers. The stage will be set up right in front of the Daphne City Hall. Entertainment will be provided every hour throughout the event. The Stage Sponsor this year is Pen Air Federal Credit Union.

Kids Art at Jubilee Festival returns to Centennial Park again this year, which is sponsored by Daphne Pediatric Dentistry. It is a great opportunity to provide children hands-on experience in learning and exploring their creative side. In addition to the many favorite activities new, fun things to do are being introduced. Kids enjoy such activities as fence painting, creating wooden structures, fish prints, puppet making, and more. Saturdays hours for the Kids Art at Jubilee Festival are 10 am 4 pm. The hours for Sunday are noon 4 pm.
New food vendors are also participating this year to provide a variety of savory, unique festival foods in the Pepsi Food Court. There will something for all ages and tastes.
Our community is going to love our t-shirts and posters this year, said Sally Wagner, who is serving as co-chairman of the event. The artwork by Michelle Foreman Leech, is so appealing.
The artwork will be printed on festival memorabilia including T-shirts and posters, which will be available for sale at the information booth.
The Eastern Shore Chamber receives hundreds of applications for the show, and the big reason why is the fantastic awards presented to the best of the best. A combination of cash and patrons awards, along with ribbons make up 55 awards, which are judged by highly experienced, objective professionals in the art world. In all, $4,400 cash awards are presented.
Hours for the event are 10 am 5 pm daily. Its easy to find out all about the 201st Annual Jubilee Festival. Just call the Chamber at 621-8222.
