David Clark, General Manager of the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa, is a strong supporter of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Blueprint for Tomorrow. In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board, he also serves on the Oversight Committee and is a member of the Board of Advisors.
Clark has been a resident of the Eastern Shore for 18 years. He has been with Marriott for 20 years and has been with the Grand Hotel for 18 years. Clark began his career as the Assistant Golf Professional, later serving as Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf and Resident Manager. He became the General Manager in 2004.
As Co-chairman for the Blueprint for Tomorrow campaign, Clark helped raise two million dollars for community initiatives from public and private sectors. In addition to helping the Chamber with fundraising efforts, he also co-founded the Tee Off Fore A Cure Childrens Golf Tournament, that has raised $120,000 net in the past two years. As a golf professional Clark coached Pat Browne, National Blind Golf Champion for 23 years. He has also been a member of the Professional Golfers Association of America for 16 years.
Clark is the father of a lovely daughter, and they are members of the Christ the King Church in Daphne.
The Grand Hotel continues to be one of the premier resorts in North America and has been recognized by Marriott Corporation with numerous awards. Continued improvements by the owner, Retirement Systems of Alabama and strong support of the management company, PCH Hotels & Resorts, should continue to elevate The Grands success.
