HOW ARE STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS AFFECTING YOUR BUSINESS?
Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Business Brief Keynote Speaker Moore Hallmark,
U. S. Chamber’s Southeastern Regional Director, for Legislative Update

DAPHNE, AL, March 16, 2010 - - Now, more than ever , it is important to be abreast of how government is affecting business. The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce wants to help business members to become more informed. The Chamber has invited Moore Hallmark, southeastern regional director for the United State Chamber of Commerce, to be the featured speaker at the Eastern Shore Chamber’s “Business Brief” luncheon, scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, 11:30 am at the Original Oyster House on the Causeway in Spanish Fort. Hallmark will provide a legislative update on key pieces of legislation currently before the Alabama Legislature and U. S. Congress and discuss their potential impact on the people and businesses in Southern Alabama.

Hallmark oversees the congressional and public affairs for eight southeastern states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The mission of the Southeastern Regional Office is to develop and maintain the region’s legislative, political and grassroots resources for the achievement of the U.S. Chamber’s public policy goals.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Hallmark served as the Governmental Affairs Director for the Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia, where he served as the association’s chief lobbyists. In his professional career, he has also served as the Governmental Affairs Director for the Community Bankers Association of Georgia, District Legislative Director for Congressman Bob Barr, and Sr. District Director for the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Hallmark has a Political Science degree from the University of Mississippi and Public Relations degree from the University of North Alabama. Over the years, he has been active in various community and alumni organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Cobb County Republican Party, Sigma Chi Fraternity, and Ole Miss Alumni Association. Hallmark and his wife, Kim, and son, Landon, reside in Atlanta, Georgia.
