Position Description:  Membership & Development Director


A high school graduate with a college degree is preferred.  The candidate must be computer literate and be competent in Word, Excel, and managing database programs.  The candidate must have previous sales and marketing experience.  Since this position works independently, they must have time management skills, be self-motivated and can set goals and priorities to meet deadlines.  This person must have solid communication skills, both written and oral.  A background check is required.


The Membership & Development Director is part of the Chamber commissioned sales effort. They are responsible for recruiting new members and their investments, market the sponsorship of programs and services of the Chamber to existing membership and non-member firms. They are responsible for their assigned member/client base and for member retention.  As an official representative, the Membership & Development Director is expected to present a professional image to all members and potential members.

- Responsible for sponsorship and membership sales
- Responsible for membership retention
- Liaison to Ambassador Team & Young Professionals
- Manage ribbon cuttings and new member activities
- Attend Chamber events and represent Chamber at community events
- Organize and facilitate total resource campaigns
- Manage and report activities and sales
- Develop and review strategies for Member investments and dues


Physical Requirements:

This job requires a person who can stand, sit at a desk or computer terminal, drive a car, lift up to forty pound boxes or deliver materials, and climb up and down stairs carrying boxes or pulling/pushing dolly.
