Celebrate Christmas with the Mobile Symphony’s
A Bountiful Holiday, Dec. 12 & 13

The Mobile Symphony Orchestra’s (MSO) annual Christmas concert is a Gulf Coast family tradition. This year, Music Director Scott Speck will unpack a bounty of musical gifts at Mobile’s Saenger Theatre for A Bountiful Holiday, Dec. 12 & 13. To allow for social-distancing the orchestra offers four performances – 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sundays.

In order the keep musicians safe and socially-distanced, the concert will follow the format of an old-fashioned variety show. Various orchestra sections – brass, woodwinds, strings – will perform independently and rotate on stage throughout the program.

The program includes Leroy Anderson’s A Christmas Festival, Carol of the Bells, selections from Nutcracker, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Let it Snow, Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves and the always popular Sleigh Ride.

The concert is sponsored by Alabama Power, the Daniel Foundation and Mark and Alane Hoffman.

Following current guidelines, the orchestra can allow only 400 people in the 1,900-seat Saenger. Seats and rows will be blocked to accommodate social distancing. Masks are required for audience and musicians. Concerts are limited to approximately one hour without an intermission. The Saenger will be sanitized between performances.

Tickets are $15-$82 and can be purchased online, by phone at 251-432-2010 or at the symphony box office, 257 Dauphin Street. Student tickets are $10. More details can be found online at www.mobilesymphony.org.
