Blakeley State Park Offers Public Boat Tour of Delta and Docks

Nature's wildlife—plants, animals and birds—will be the first of a double feature show for passengers aboard the Blakeley State Park's Delta Explorer Saturday April 23. The second feature will be sights and sounds of shipbuilding, local and international shipping activities of the Port of Mobile.

The three-hour tour  aboard the 50-passenger Blakeley boat begins from the park dock on the Tensaw River at 9:30 a.m. After crossing the Delta viewing wildlife seen only by boat, the Delta Explorer cruises down the Mobile River through the Port of Mobile before looping back to home dock.

Seating is on a first come-first serve basis but can be reserved in advance by calling 251-626-5581 and paying with major credit cards. Tickets are $35 for adults, $17 for children 6-12. The boat is also available for private charter by groups.

Blakeley State Park is located on State Hwy. 225 about five miles north of its intersection with U.S. 31 at Spanish Fort. For more information go to www.blakeleypark.com.
